Cyber Crime Awareness Session Held at NSS Special Camp of Karnaprayag College

 

Karnaprayag,Chamoli (Ankit Tiwari): On the second day of the seven-day National Service Scheme (NSS) special camp organized by Dr. Shivanand Nautiyal Government Postgraduate College, Karnaprayag (Chamoli) at B.Ed. College, Jilasu, an intellectual session was conducted on the topics of cybercrime and road safety.

The chief speaker, Inspector Aniruddh Vyas from Karnaprayag Police Station, shared preventive measures against cybercrime. He advised participants not to answer video calls from unknown numbers, avoid falling for emotional frauds, and refrain from clicking on suspicious links or tempting offers. He cautioned volunteers that banks never ask for confidential information over the phone, so one must stay alert to such calls. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of obtaining customer care numbers only from official websites instead of searching on Google.

Sub-Inspector Manoj Kumar, in charge of Lagasu Police Post, educated the volunteers about road safety and the harmful effects of drug addiction. He stated that substance abuse is not only detrimental to an individual’s health but also poses a serious threat to society.

Senior NSS Program Officer Dr. Chandrawati Tamta, who conducted the session, urged volunteers to spread awareness about cyber security, road safety, and the negative impacts of drug abuse.

On this occasion, NSS Program Officer Dr. Hina Nautiyal, Head Constable Vinod Negi, and Yogendra Singh were also present.
